Ehlén's vision for stone candlesticks led her to a local stonemasonry where she sourced surplus dolerite pieces. Crafting three unique candlesticks from this material, they were bundled as a set.
 
The KRÄSEN candlesticks from 1987 seamlessly blended ancient materials with a modern aesthetic. An internal protocol from the same year challenged the notion that modern style had plateaued, showcasing these new KRÄSEN candlesticks with natural stone bases, iron wire posts, and brass candle cups. These designs bridged the worlds of material, design, and function.
